Tournament Format 


  • Teams: 12 teams (12-15 players per team) Co-ed teams optional

  • Game Format: 

    • 2 x 25-minute halves (straight time) 

    • 5-minute warm-up 

    • 5-minute halftime 

    • 30-minute break between games 

    • No Hitting Allowed

  • Guaranteed Games: Each team plays at least 3 games 

  • Playoff Structure: Top team from each pool advances to the semifinals, with an additional consolation round for teams that do not qualify

Tournament Structure

Friday & Saturday

Round Robin 

  • 4 Pools of 3 Teams 

  • Each team plays 3 round-robin games 

  • Top team from each pool + one wild card (best second-place team overall) advance to the semifinals

  • 9:00AM - 6:00 PM

Sunday

Playoffs & Consolation Round 

  • Semifinals → Championship & Third-Place Game

  • Consolation Games ensure all teams play at least three games

  • 9:00AM - 6:00 PM  


Tie-Breaker Rules (Round Robin Standings) 

If two or more teams are tied in the standings after the round robin, the following tie-breakers will be applied in order: 

  1. Head-to-Head Result – The team that won the game between the tied teams ranks higher. 

  2. Goal Differential – Total goals scored minus total goals allowed across all games. 

  3. Fewest Goals Against – The team that allowed fewer total goals in round-robin play ranks higher. 

  4. Most Goals Scored – The team with the highest total goals scored in round-robin play ranks higher. 

  5. Fewest Penalty Minutes – The team with fewer total penalty minutes ranks higher. 

  6. Coin Toss – If all other criteria are equal, a coin toss will determine placement. 

 


Prizing & Charitable Component 

The Inaugural Hospitality Cup will be awarded to the winning team, establishing them as the top hospitality industry squad. 

All PROCEEDS from the tournament will go to the champion’s charity of their choosing

1st PLACE - SILENT ICE TROPHY, $1000 SUMMIT GIFT CARD & BRAGGING RIGHTS

2ND PLACE - $500 SUMMIT CARD

3RD PLACE - $250 SUMMIT CARD

LOCATION

Our tournament will take place at a new, modern facility, the Silent Ice Center in Nisku, Alberta. The arena includes two NHL-sized rinks, ample team dressing rooms, and convenient on-site food options, including the Summit full restaurant and a second-level Egg & Joy and bar. It’s a comfortable, well-equipped space for both players and spectators to enjoy a full weekend of hockey.

Each team must provide both home and away jerseys.

Will teams have access to locker rooms?

Yes, locker rooms will be assigned to each team for the duration of the tournament.
